Centre LifeLink EMS, Inc. is a non-profit organization providing a variety of services to Centre County, PA and surrounding areas.
LifeLink operates seven ambulances which provide 24 hour ALS and BLS emergency service to the Borough of State College, College Twp., Harris Twp., Ferguson Twp., Patton Twp., and mutual aid to surrounding areas of Centre and Huntingdon Counties. Our call volume is approximately 7,000 calls per year, with the majority being emergencies.
We are currently operating out of three stations to allow us access to the largest area in the shortest amount of time. We have a new main station on located on Puddintown Rd. in College Twp. in State College. We also operate two satellite stations, one in Patton Twp. and a second in State College Borough on University Drive Extension.
Our staff is made up of a dedicated team of volunteer and paid EMTs and paramedics.
In 1941 Alpha Ambulance begain operations with 1 ambulance and 4 volunteers.
In 1972 Alpha Ambulance became an independent
non-profit organization
In 1991 Alpha Ambulance became a 501-c-3 charitable organization with a 9 member volunteer community based board of directors
In 1999 Alpha Ambulance was accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services and has since been reaccredited in 2002, 2005 and 2008.
Alpha Community Ambulance Service, Inc. changed its name to Centre LifeLink EMS, Inc. in January 2005 when it moved its operation to a new headquarters located at 125 Puddintown Road in State College.
Today, Centre LifeLink EMS operates a total of seven ambulances and four non-emergency vans responding to an average of 16.8 total calls per day.
A minimum of two ambulances are staffed 24 hrs/day. Staff consists of 40 paid personnel (full and part time) and 55 volunteers.
Last year our volunteers contributed over 15,300 hours.
Our primary response area is the Centre Region - State College Borough, College, Ferguson, Harris and Patton Townships covering a population of approximately 80,000. |
