The Tri-Town Fire and Ambulance Company is a rural fire department serving a priority/first response area of approximately 1940 citizens and 95 square miles. Our primary response area is Ulysses Borough, Northern Ulysses Township, Southern Bingham Township, Northern Hector Township and Eastern Allegheny Township. Under the Tioga/Potter County Mutual Aid Plan we also respond on the first alarm to certain calls in Harrison, Pike, Genesee and Sweden Townships.
We operate out of a single station located in the Borough of Ulysses. Our fleet consists of 2 BLS ambulances, 2 Class 'A' engines, a mini-pumper (patrol), a 2000 Gal tanker, a light rescue and an off-road utility vehicle. We respond to an average of 75 fire/rescue calls and 250 medical calls each year.
Despite our very rural location we have a primary responsibility to protect a large and vital part of our national infrastructure, specifically the Northern Potter County natural gas storage field, compressor stations, transfer stations, wells and pipelines. These facilities serve the Northeast United States with natural gas supplies. We play a major role in the protection of these facilities. Our fire district and mutual-aid companies also protect nearly 35,000 acres of Pennsylvania State Forest Land. Additionally we are part of the primary response for the Northern Potter Schools, the Northern Tier Children's Home and one of the Potter County Housing Projects. |
